I
can't find the item I need - RMIT
Bookshop employs certain conventions when adding titles onto our database.
These make it easier for our staff to look up books on our system by eliminating
some common words and abbreviating others. Unfortunately they can make
it harder for customers to search the database without knowing these conventions.
A list of these conventions and abbreviations can be found
here. This list is also accessible from our main search
page.
If you cannot find
the item you require, we can research the item for you. You can use our
contacts page
to request information. Top

How
soon will my order be processed? - We aim to
process and dispatch all orders for in-stock items within 24 hours from
the first working day after receipt of an order, however during our busiest
periods dispatch may be delayed by up to three to four days.
Delays may also be incurred due to factors beyond our control, however
we will attempt to notify you in the event of such an occurrence.
Out of stock items will need to be delivered into our store by our suppliers.
You will be notified of an estimated date. The standard time frame from
order placement to delivery into our store is approximately five to seven
working days. Items which need to be shipped into Australia from overseas
suppliers, or where the local distributor does not carry stock, will generally
take from four to six weeks, unless the customer wishes to pay for expedited
shipping costs from our suppliers. Top

Pricing
- All prices
listed on our web site for currently stocked items are the normal selling
price including GST.
For online orders we only apply our standard
9% student discount to currently confirmed RMIT textbooks. Non-confirmed items will not receive a student discount for online orders.
Please check the
RMIT student textbook information page for placing orders for
current RMIT textbooks.
Our in-store student discount on presentation of a current student card
is still applicable for all non-nett books. Student discount is not
applicable to non-book items such as stationery, medical equipment and
calculators.
Co-op member discounts are applicable to
all non-nett items (including stationery, medical equipment and
calculators) ordered online.
Co-op member discount replaces any applicable student
discount when your co-op member number is quoted during the order
process, or you are joining with your order.
APESMA
students/members receive the student discount on
current APESMA textbooks (excluding nett priced items) for online orders.
Please check the APESMA
information page for placing orders for APESMA textbooks. APESMA
member discount also applies to non-text books - please quote your
APESMA member number during the order process.
ACAP students
receive the student discount on current ACAP textbooks (excluding nett
priced items) for online orders. Please check the
ACAP information page
for placing orders for ACAP textbooks. All ACAP course readers are nett
priced, and not discountable.
Prices listed for items not currently in stock (including items whose
current status is "on order") are the last known price, and
are subject to change. We suggest you contact us to enquire about price
& availability before placing an order for an out of stock item.
Items marked Nett are
not eligible for either student or co-op discount.

Freight
- Freight is charged for all items dispatched from our store.
You can view the pricing for freight options here
.
Our charges for freight are based on average weights for the most common
types of books (textbooks) dispatched. In the case of small items, we will adjust
the freight component to reflect the lower weight accordingly.
Melbourne Co-op Bookshop
Group does not accept responsibility for any customs charges/import duties
levied by destination country authorities for international orders. Any
charges of this sort are the sole responsibility of the customer. In cases
where these charges apply, goods will generally not be released to the
recipient until these charges have been paid.
The type of freight you wish to use can be selected from the order confirmation
page. If you do not add a freight component to your order, we will dispatch
it via the cheapest available method.

Cancellations - Orders for items we
already carry in-stock can be cancelled any time before we despatch
them. Once we have despatched your order, our normal
return/exchange policy applies.
Orders for items we
don't currently have in-stock or already on order are deemed 'special
orders' (ordered specifically for you), and cannot be cancelled once
they have been despatched from our suppliers. If you wish to cancel an
order for non-stock items, please contact us as soon as possible.

Returns/exchanges
- Damaged
or defective goods will be replaced or refunded at your request. Please
contact the bookshop to arrange for return of the items.
We do not accept returns
or exchanges on goods purchased online simply because you have changed
your mind. If you believe there are extenuating circumstances, please
contact us to discuss your needs. Items returned to us without our consent
will not be credited.
For in-store purchases
the following policy applies:
If you are unhappy
with your book purchase, RMIT Bookshop offers an exchange or store
credit note (valid for 12 months), provided that goods are returned in
mint condition within a reasonable period (usually within seven days of purchase).
We do not offer refunds except where goods are verified as having
manufacturing faults, do not match a sample you have been shown, or are
not the same as they have been described or advertised.
Proof of purchase (your register receipt) must be provided for all
exchanges or returns.
The following items cannot be exchanged/credited except when verified as having
manufacturing faults:
- Stationery
- Art Materials
- Calculators & computer peripherals
- Software, CDs & DVDs
- Sale items
- Special orders
- Second-hand books
- RMIT University course notes / reading packs
Please also note that
